Shuman works with NASA SVS on Landsat overview of Ice Shelf
Christopher Shuman (615/UMBC) provided scientific consulting on the NASA Scientific Visualization (SVS) product, "Landsat Tracks Brunt Ice Shelf Evolution 1986-2023", which illustrates "changes to this remote ice shelf in East Antarctica from 1986 to 2023, including rifting leading up to, during, and after major calving events in February 2021 and January 2023." In this short video, the Landsat images provide a dramatic comparison of the ice shelf throughout this time span, in particular the calving of Iceberg A-81.
