Guimond's research and paper highlighted by UMBC News
Stephen Guimond (612/UMBC) and his co-authors recently had their JAMES publication "The Dynamics of Megafire Smoke Plumes in Climate Models: Why a Converged Solution Matters for Physical Interpretations" presented as a feature article in UMBC News. Dr. Guimond's research focuses on the study of wildfire smoke plumes and how they affect climate change as well as the inaccuracies in prior sample data and the effect of improvements to models and simulations.
