Arteaga uses NCCS for first-of-its-kind study
"In a first-of-its-kind study, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center scientists used the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) Discover supercomputer to combine ocean data and modeling to assess how recent heatwave events affected phytoplankton populations in the open Pacific Ocean." Lionel Arteaga (610.1/UMBC) and Cecile Rousseaux (616/GSFC) found the NCCS invaluable to their research, and their related paper was published in Communications Biology in March 2023.
