Tokay's UMBC GES Summer Students give Presentations
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Ali Tokay’s summer student interns from UMBC’s Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences gave their presentations. This event was held virtually and on campus in Sondheim Hall. Their 10-week internships were funded by the Maryland Space Grant Consortium.
Connor Mahone's presentation was titled “Evaluation of Precipitation Phase Algorithms in Southern New England.”
Amalie Rebstock's presentation was titled “Evaluation of Precipitation Products in Mid-Atlantic and Southern New England.”
Additionally, Dr. Tokay mentored Sloane Poppei, an intern from the University of Michigan, whose presentation was titled “Precipitation Imaging Package (PIP): Potential Instrument for Measuring Raindrops.”
All three students will present their research during the AMS Annual Meeting in January 2025.
